On September 9 and 10, 2024, we held a two-day seminar retreat in Ito city, Shizuoka prefecture.
We gathered at Ito station in the afternoon and then headed to Mt. Komuro. We traveled to the summit by lift, and upon arrival, the view opened up dramatically, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery, including the cityscape of Ito and the surrounding natural landscape. At the summit, we took a group photo with the scenic view as the backdrop.
After taking the group photo, we moved to our accommodation, a cottage where we stayed overnight. We had originally planned to have a barbecue for dinner; however, due to rainy weather, we changed our plans and prepared and enjoyed our meal indoors using electric hot plates. Although we experienced an unexpected incident in which the circuit breaker tripped due to the simultaneous use of multiple hot plates, we worked together to resolve the situation and were ultimately able to enjoy our dinner without further issues.
Through this retreat, interactions among seminar members were further strengthened, making it a meaningful and valuable experience that will have a positive impact on our future research activities.
