Our group of transportation analysis, research works have been conducted using the traffic flow simulator, Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO). SUMO is an open-source, highly portable, microscopic, and continuous traffic simulation package designed to handle large-scale networks [1].
As it can reproduce detailed movements of individual vehicles, it enables simulations that closely reflect real-world traffic conditions.
Our studies include:
– Investigations on highway merging congestion and collisions using a traffic flow simulator,
– Evaluations of intersections that consider pedestrian movements
– Analyses of the causes of traffic accidents and congestion using a traffic simulator.
